The Golden Peony International Music Competition is a celebration of entwining Chinese and American culture that seeks to promote Chinese traditional art forms and find the most talented performers of Chinese and western classical music.
The Music Competition is co-hosted by the Chinese-American Family Coalition, a local non-profit organization, and the Beijing Municipal Ethnic Education Society. The Competition also receive support from the Central Conservatory of Music of China.
The individual categories of this competition include solo, trio, and ensemble acts and will feature players of both Chinese and western instruments, with a focus on traditional Chinese instruments. This innovative mixing of Western and Chinese music styles provides a perfect opportunity for performers of all ages to compete, perform, and communicate while revealing their talents to the world.
The Competition is an internationally significant event that will feature many well-known music industry experts and judges. Throughout the Competition, performers will have access to international experts, teachers, and reviewers who will guide and improve the player’s professional artistic standards and playing ability.

American-Chinese pianist, piano educationist, composer, music theorist and music critics graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School. Li Tao’s music talent was recognized by the major media in the United States and awarded with the honor of “outstanding talents with extraordinary capabilities”.
Tenor, Mr. Hwang completed his Master’s Degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 2006. While in the Opera Studio he performed in the American premiere of Martinu’s Mirandolina, creating the role of the Fabrizio. Mr. Hwang has received the Lindley Incentive Award, Joseph McCrindle scholarship Award, the Manhattan school of music Merit Scholarship, and Yonsei University Alumni Association Scholarship.
