SAT  Subject Test- Mathematics Level II

For those students interested in pursuing university education in STEM and business related fields, the SAT II Subject Examination in Level 2 Mathematics has become an important cornerstone of college admissions.

Examination results are often utilized by admissions offices in the general college admissions process, and increasingly by academic departments in universities to determine placement in first year science and mathematics course sequences. Consequently, whether a student will be placed into an introductory calculus sequence or placed into more advanced course sequences covering linear algebra and differential equations can partially be determined by SAT II Mathematics Level 2 results as in the case at universities such as Columbia and NYU Poly. While the SAT II Mathematics Level 2 is curved generously, ensuring a high probability of attaining a 700+ score, the real point of consideration will be the percentile rank score, rather than the 800 scale score.

In fact, a score of a 750 roughly correlates to a performance in the 68th Percentile rank while a 700 score correlates to a percentile rank in the 52nd percentile. Consequently, effective and efficient preparation must be exercised to attain the highest possible score. A rigorous review of exam topics in algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and pre-calculus will be supplemented by examination preparation materials and practice test sets placing more for emphasis on problem solving approach.
